 WHAT IS A PHOTOFACIAL?

The Photofacial is a non-invasive, light based approach used primarily to boost collagen production, reduce the effects of sun damage and pollution, as well as reduce broken capillaries.  Our

new Cutera Xeo with LimeLight utizlizes next generation intense pulse light, which is far less painless than older machines.  The procedure can remove sun spots, help manage melasma, and rosacea as well as said in the treatment of mild to moderate acne.  This quick and painless treatment improves skin tone and surface imperfections associated with aging, photodamage and vascular conditions on the face and body, including tiny spider veins.

WHAT AREAS CAN BE TREATED?

Our photofacial is ideal for any part of your face or body with skin redness, telangiectasia (tiny veins) or brown spots.  Light (low contrast) brown spots, which were previously difficult to resolve, respond very well to this skin rejuvenation treatment.

WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?

Within seven to ten days, the darkened spots will flake off or fade. Diffuse redness or telangiectasia will decrease and your mottled complexion will improve.  This is a wonderful maintenance treatment for anyone with rosacea or any redness caused by sun damage on the neck or chest.  If treated in combination with one of our in house professional skin care lines for pre and post treatment, the results will be seen sooner and will help extend the weeks or months in between scheduled appointments.

WILL THE SPOTS AND REDNESS REAPPEAR OVER TIME?

New brown spots, telangiectasia and diffuse redness may appear with new sun damage, however, they too can be treated.  Remember to always apply broad-spectrum sunscreen of at least SPF 30 when outdoors (all year round) to minimize sun damage and the appearance of new spots and diffuse redness.  Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin condition and cannot be “cured” with any laser or light source.  It can however, be greatly improved if managed correctly with the proper treatments and skin care regime.  We proudly carry Bioelements Professional Skin Care, which has a beautiful sensitive skin line that combo’s exceptionally well with our standard Rosacea care protocol.
